Best based-on-a-true-story title ever?

Normally, I tune out when I hear "based on a true story." It becomes so much easier to predict the outcome of the film when you know that. Oh, what's that? A true story about a woman who sues a company? I wonder if she wins. What's that? A sports story? I wonder if they win or at least come close heroically? And so and on and so on. I will admit that the following movie about reformed drug dealer who becomes a preacher and then takes on rebel forces in Africa sounded interesting to me right away. Why? Because it has the greatest title for a true story ever: Machine Gun Preacher. Um, hell yes. Sounding a little bit like Hobo With A Shotgun, which I do not believe to be a true story, this title instantly spoke to me. Then I found out that said preacher would be this guy:
And that his wife would be this lady:
Yeah, so Gerard Butler and Michelle Monaghan playing real-life ex-cons who clean themselves up for Jesus only to take on child slavers in Sudan? Yeah, I'm good with that. Sure, it's no Blind Side, but I'm in.

If you buy the Farmiga, you get the Monaghan free

I have to tell you that the following combination of names of actors, actresses, director, and musician makes me so happy that I can only present the information to you in verse. Sorry.

I woke up this morning and got of bed,
hadn't even jump started, with coffee, my head,
when what do I see on the great interwebs?
An awesome director joined by two great celebs.
Duncan Jones, who you know as the director of Moon,
joined up with two ladies who make me hella swoon.
Vera Farmiga, who's known from The Departed,
has the looks and the chops to get my heart started.
She'll be joined by a lass who has both traits, as well.
I'm speaking, of course, of Monaghan (Michelle).
Watching just those two, I'd have quite a ball,
but they'll also be joined by Jake Gyllenhaal.
The movie's sci-fi and is called Source Code,
and the actors now gathered are a huge mother lode.
The film follows a soldier investigating terror crimes,
and with those ladies along, I'm sure he won't mind.
His character projects into another man's body,
but not like that sounds because that would be naughty.
He lives in this surrogate, this "avatar" if you will,
so he kind find out who's responsible for the kill.
Jones made such a great film his first time out,
that in this new project, I do have no doubt.
As if they needed more components to sell,
the score may be done by the great Clint Mansell!
This project excites me more than many before,
But until 2011, I'll have to endure,
so to bide my time as the clock slowly ticks,
I guess I'll console myself with these lovely pics.
And ladies, don't worry, I won't leave you blue,
if you look down below, you'll find young Jake, too.

Michelle Monaghan can kiss, kiss, bang, bang all she wants

In a world where Cameron Diaz is rumored for every single role requiring ovaries, where Renee Zellweger, Charlize Theron, and Halle Berry are Oscar winners, and where Sandra Bullock is still the rom-com queen, why is it that Michelle Monaghan isn't one of the most famous women in film? Exhibit A:

Obviously, there's no need for an Exhibit B, but if there were, I'd point to her work in Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang and Gone, Baby, Gone as examples of this gravel-voiced angel's ability to nail just about every emotion in the human experience...and yet, you walk in and say "I am about to have a restraining order put on me by Michelle Monaghan" and people yell "who?" Well, first they yell "Get out of here before I shoot" but then they yell "who?" The good news is that Monaghan is making inroads towards the fame she so richly deserves, as she is starring alongside Zack Galifianakis and is reuniting with Robert Downey Jr (I do show a lot of hot chick photos...so in the interest of fairness.

The film is called Due Date and it sounds totally generic but potentially very popular. Downey Jr must get home for his wife's birth (Monaghan) and he is accompanied by Galifianakis in a total rip-off of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. The film will be directed by frat-boy comic God Todd Philips. Prior to this film, Monaghan will be starring in Sofia Coppola's Somewhere, which is really exciting because Coppola is perhaps the most gifted female director working right now. So, remember this face

As if you could forget it.
